Half-day fishing charters by jet raft run 5 hours, targeting Copper River king or Copper River red salmon. All the fishing takes place standing on the shore. We use the boat to float from fishing hole to fishing hole working our way downstream, stopping to check out all the top-secret spots. Tasty salmon are not the only wildlife you might see along the way; keep an eye out for lynx, bears, moose, sheep, and bald eagles. We start early to ensure you can experience the best fishing conditions possible. Standing at a productive fishing hole when the light changes and the sun warms the surface of the water triggers the salmon to move and increases your chance of “hook-ups”. We offer an afternoon half-day trip for those of you who are not early birds and can arrange custom departure times to accommodate your schedule.
What’s Included
Half-day sport-fishing charters include a 5-mile river rafting tour (launch point and river selection depend on water conditions, time of your trip, and ADF&G regulations), shuttle service, waders, PFD, tackle, ancillary gear, water, snacks & processing of your catch. We provide you with the most technique-specific fishing equipment available for side-drifting fast rivers.

Visiting the park via McCarthy? Consider Salmon Grove as your base camp. There are several shuttle services available that go into the park daily. The dirt road is unsuitable for RV’S and many people find Salmon Grove the perfect place to base camp when visiting Kennicott McCarthy. We offer special rates for the days you are not at camp but your RV is.
